[mybb] questione CHMOD (era "problem")

Ciao a tutti! ho appena messo nel mio database tutti i file per creare un forum..........ho usato mybb......però per installarlo mi dice:
# Unzip the release archive to your computer using an archive utility capable of decompressing the download format you chose (Winzip)
# Using an FTP client (FlashFXP), upload the entire contents of the 'upload' directory to a visible directory on your web server (for example, forum or forums).
# CHMOD the following files to 666 (ie, make sure that PHP can write to them).

./inc/settings.php
./inc/config.php
./uploads
./uploads/avatars
# In your browser, visit the URL where you installed your forums, appending /install/ on to the end of it.

If you installed your forums to http://www.yoursite.com/forums/ then you would visit http://www.yoursite.com/forums/install/.

ma cosa sarebbe il chmod? e come devo cambiare?

Sono i permessi che hai tu sulle cartelle :-)

Per cambiarli vai sul tuo FTP, tasto destro sulla cartella, Proprietà e poi Permessi (per Filezilla mi pare)
O comunque usa un FTP :)

fai un errore di fondo: database ed account (inteso come spazio web) non sono sinonimi; i file li memorizzi nell'account, non nel database, il quale contiene informazioni organizzate in tabelle

io ho cambiato i valori numerici........e adesso?

Ed ora parti con l'installazione:

cmq ho usato phpbb........sapete dirmi come separare le sezioni?
Se ad esempio ho la sezione presentati e sotto sezione off topic, come faccio che ci sia un separatore tra le due sezioni?
