[ubuntu] problema di connessione

ciao a tutti ho un piccolo problemino e spero mi possiate aiutare.....
ho installato il modem d-link dsl 200 su ubuntu 7.10, ma al momento della connessione si blocca, ecco quanto esce:

ho provato a dare eciadsl-doctor.....sperando sfosse utile......se fatto prima di tentare la connessione esce quanto segue:

in questo caso si blocca e ho dovuto chiudere tutto con ctrl+c

si...l'avevo gia letta, ma non sono riuscito a trovare una soluzione......cmq ora ho recuperato un router ethernet e cerchero di installare quello....

Io ho il router Alice Gate II e funziona benissimo. Non mi fa neppure il controllo dell'userID né della password. Accendo il tutto, accendo FF e funziona tutto.
Ho la versione 7.10 di Ubuntu.
