Help...Download-Upload file da url dove???

Buonasera a tutti...
sono nuovo del forum e da qualche mese mi sono avvicinato al php.
Vi posto immediatamente il problema.
Ho aperto uno spazio web su AV.
La mia intenzione era quella di salvare qualche foto sullo spazio web
Ho cercato e provato vari script per il download della immagine ma questa viene si salvata ma non ha una dimensione o meglio ha un peso di 0 kb... e io mi domando il perchè!

Per il download ho usato questo....

Ora il salvataggio avviene con esito positivo la la dimensione del file salvato è di 0 kb.
Perche?
Io penso che l'errore sia nella directory di salvataggio nel senso che i file, immagini o altro che sia, debba essere salvato in directory diversa.
Risolto questo problema, utilizzerei comunque un altro script per scaricare direttamente inserendo una url dell'immagine dall'esterno
