Avviso dominio scaduto, che invece è stato rinnovato

Mi è arrivata questa mail. Il dominio è stato rinnovato fino a novembre 2016.
Anche se fosse una bufala, mi chiedo come sia possibile che abbiano avuto accesso ai miei dati personali (che ora nascondo, visto che il blog è pubblico).
Ci sono problemi nel rinnovo oppure qualche buco nella sicurezza?

solo alcuni registrar offrono l'anonimato

Se leggi con attenzione non c'è scritto che il dominio è scaduto, ma cercano solo di venderti un non meglio precisato servizio di motore di ricerca domini.
