[SUSE] Frequenza non supportata dallo schermo LCD

E sono ancora qui a chiedera aiuto...
Ho provato a collegare il mio schermo LCD Acer AL1715, che con winzoz va alla perfezione, alla macchina dove ho suse.
Funziona tutto fino a quando dovrebbe esserci la schermata per il login, ma al suo posto vedo la scritta "Frequenza non supportata" sul monitor.
Avevo trovato una vecchia discussione (http://forum.altervista.org/showthread.php?t=23029) dove si discuteva dello stesso problema, tranne per la versione di suse, la 9.3 invece che la 10, ma il problema non è stato risolto.
Potrebbe essere una buona idea mettere le mani su xorg.conf? O rischierei solo di rovinare il monitor?

impostando tu il path esatto per xorg.conf.

devi smadonnare con xorg.conf perchè devi reimpostare le frequenze di aggiornamento del monitor.
a proposito, le conosci?

Ho avuto lo stesso problema con il mio AL1912. Ora ti dico come fare a risolvere:

Le cose importanti che devi notare sono le righe HorizSync e VertRefresh. Io le ho estratte dal manuale del monitor presente sul cd che ti dovrebbero aver dato assieme al monitor stesso. Le frequenze le trovi in fondo al file in una tabella dove sono elencati tutti i valori ordinati per risoluzione e frequenza di refresh. In particolare io ho controllato i valori per le risoluzioni che mi interessavano (1280x1024 e 1024x768) ed ho tirato fuori i valori massimi e minimi (HorizSync è misurato in KHz mentre Vertical Refresh in Hz) che vedi nel'estratto di xorg sopra.

Mi raccomando okkio ai valori che ci metti perché rischi di far danni!
